Main milestones
Five years of legal continuous residence immediately prior to filing is usually required. Not every period is counted as complete; short trips do not always interrupt service. We need to check the history of documents and travel, not just the date of first entry.
How to confirm the language
For adults, a legally required proof of Polish at least B1 is usually required. Not every course certificate is suitable. For children under 16 years of age on the date of submission, the language proof requirement does not apply.
After the decision
The permit is indefinite, but the card on this basis is issued for five years and then replaced. The status is not EU citizenship and does not give an unconditional right to work in any EU country.
