Why the mark is important
The presence of PESEL and the presence of an active UKR is not the same. When losing the status, the number remains, but the rights can change. It is not possible to determine the current status only on the basis of the old numbering paper.
Verification after changes 2026
If the UKR was issued on the basis of a statement of identity without a valid passport, UdSC required confirmation of identity until August 31, 2026. That deadline has already passed. If you have not done so, contact the urząd gminy with your passport to verify the current record; do not consider the protection active by default. Passport data update is free of charge.
With a new passport
Report the new data to the municipality. For travel, work and CUKR card questions, use the current rules of your status - the ordinary PESEL instruction does not solve these questions.
